This Year's Model Updates:

A convertible joins the PT Cruiser lineup for 2005.

Pros:
  • Distinctive styling inside and out, spacious cabin with multiconfigurable rear seats, smooth ride, spirited acceleration on turbo models, reasonable pricing.
Cons:
  • Acceleration can be sluggish with base engine, awkward seating position for shorter drivers, unimpressive fuel economy.

We purchased our PT to tow behind our motor home. The side benefit was the convertible top. It is a great car to sightsee from, and in the mountains we dont lose any power. Driving the twisty mountain roads with the top down and in 3rd gear is great fun. We carry our large German Shepherd on the flat floor that is exposed with the rear seats removed.

My wife has always liked the PT, and when it was time to replace her Ford ZX2, went went looking for a four door to make it easier for our grandchild. After driving the PT, we were sold. They did just about everything right. Its only drawback is the fuel ecomomy. We went from over 30 mpg with the ZX2 to under 26 with the PT.

Hi, its me again. Ive already told you about the AC going out and the top not going up or down. Now, after I picked it up from the mechanic the last time it started making a thumping noise in the front right. I thought it was something the mechanic had done, but no, it was the right front motor mount! Now, Chrysler recommends you PULL the engine to replace the mount, but my man said he didnt have to do that. Only cost $700 this time. And by the way, he said, there were only 2 out of 4 bolts holding the mount on and thats why it broke! Also only 2 out 4 bolts on the power steering pump at only 27K miles! To be continued...

Purchased in August 04 with the consent of my wife we now have our second PT Cruiser. (05 convert GT) What a car. Its quieter inside than our 02 PT. (we still have) The performance is great, more power than youll ever need and fun to drive. We have had no problems with it yet other than attacting lots of attention. With the top down it is surprising quiet. I have been in the car business for over 30 years in service depts.for different companies and I have to say that Chrysler has a "winner" here. A fun and reliable car. Two of ours friends have bought new convertibles (GT & Dream Cruiser) after seeing and riding in ours. YOU JUST HAVE TO TRY IT OUT. BET YOU CANT BUY JUST ONE!!

What a nice surprise to buy an American made vehicle that does not shake rattle and roll. None of the annoying vibrations of the past. Fun to drive. Nice lines. Easy convertible conversion. Some road noise, but its a convertible! Good sound system. Small trunk. If the windshield and the front end was a little sleeker, it would look totally cool instead of practically cool.

I just purchased my bright blue PT Crusier last month and I love it.... I did take it on a trip and found the seats were not "giving" as my older cars were. But I get great gas mileage and my 2 sons, one who is 6"1" and the other almost as tall fit into the front or the back perfectfully!

PROS- Fun to drive around town. Get a lot of questions at stop lights. Had factory dual exhaust installed by dealer. Great body style. Reminds me of my "39 Ford sedan" and "62 [544] Volvo". All the folding seats come in handy. Wife loves it for grocery shopping...

My black PT ragtop is one wonderful car. Not even one hint of a problem in the near 2 years I have had it. I gets looks and comments all the time and has given me 30000 miles of fun and enjoyment.

my pt is one of the most enjoyable cars ive owned. the power is great;no loss of speed pulling any grade of hill. it rides well but is a little unsure in tight cornering... maybe will improve with the 215/45/17s on order. my other vehicles are mazda miata, jeep cherokee, and dodge dakota. the pt is the most diverse and used vehicle in my toy box! id recommend a pt to anyone who is looking for a fun, practicle and head-turning daily driver!
